Mack Whitehead - April 18, 2017

Mack Lewis Whitehead, 60, of 412 Arbor St., Greenville, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the Vidant Medical Center.

Mack received his formal education in the Pitt County School System and served his country in both the United States Army and the National Guard. He was employed with TRW Rubbermaid and retired from Greenville Utilities Commission where he worked as a Gas Service Worker II.

Mack will be forever cherished by: his wife, Tyangela Short of Greenville; two daughters, Ikia Whitehead and Candice Whitehead both of Atlanta, Georgia; one stepson, Tyleik Harris of Greenville; two stepdaughters, Shaniyah Artis of Greenville and Kisha Thornton of Atlanta, Georgia; nine Grandchildren; three brothers, Calvin Whitehead (Judith) and James Whitehead (Dorothy) both of Greenville and J'Marcus Purvis of Charlotte; one sister, Doris J. Boyd of Greenville.

Viewing will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM with the family present to receive friends from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Rivers-Morgan Funeral Home and Cremations of Greenville, Inc., 190 Plaza Dr., Greenville.

Homegoing service with military honors will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Leander R. Morgan, Sr. Memorial Chapel of Rivers-Morgan Funeral Home and Cremations of Greenville, Inc., 190 Plaza Dr., Greenville, with the Rev. Sidney L. Boyd, Officiating. Interment will be private.
